Speaker Bio: Viviane Silvera is a New York Emmy-nominated director, painter, and filmmaker whose work explores memory, trauma, imagination, and healing through hand-painted film. Her PBS film See Memory, created from more than 30,000 individually painted frames, has been nominated for three New York Emmy Awards and received the 2025 Telly Award for 2D Animation. Silvera speaks at universities, museums, medical schools, and mental health organizations about art, neuroscience, memory, trauma, and the power of visual storytelling to open difficult conversations.

SEE MEMORY is featured in Vital Connections: Art & the Brain, a major exhibition exploring the relationship between creativity, neuroscience, brain health, and well-being, developed in collaboration with Honolulu’s Brain Health Applied Research Institute (B+HARI).

Featuring work by Ruth Asawa, Chuck Close, David Hockney, Yayoi Kusama, Georgia O’Keeffe, Viviane Silvera, Jennifer Steinkamp, and others.
