Speaker Bio: Viviane Silvera is a New York Emmy Award–winning director, painter, and filmmaker whose work explores memory, trauma, imagination, and healing through hand-painted film. Her PBS documentary SEE MEMORY, created from more than 30,000 individually hand-painted frames, won the 2026 New York Regional Emmy Award for Directing, received three Emmy nominations, and earned the 2025 Telly Award for 2D Animation.

Silvera speaks at universities, museums, medical schools, and mental health organizations about art, neuroscience, memory, trauma, and the power of visual storytelling to open difficult conversations.

Memories from the Future
October 24–25, 2026 | Athens, Greece

SEE MEMORY will be screened at ART4MORE, an international arts and mental health festival exploring the relationship between art, memory, neuroscience, and well-being.

Viviane Silvera will also present a prerecorded talk on October 24 as part of The Memory of Tomorrow, examining how memories are reconstructed, how art can make these invisible processes visible, and how changing our relationship to the past might shape our future.

SEE MEMORY is the winner of the 2026 New York Regional Emmy Award for Directing.

SEE MEMORY is featured in Vital Connections: Art & the Brain, a major exhibition exploring the relationship between creativity, neuroscience, brain health, and well-being, developed in collaboration with Honolulu’s Brain Health Applied Research Institute (B+HARI).
