Viviane Silvera Wins NY Emmy Award for Directing SEE MEMORY

Filmmaker and painter Viviane Silvera won the 2026 New York Emmy Award for Directing for her PBS documentary SEE MEMORY, which received three nominations in the categories of Health/Medical Documentary, Graphic Arts, and Directing.

Created from more than 30,000 individually hand-painted frames, SEE MEMORY explores how memory is formed, fragmented, and transformed, bringing together visual art, neuroscience, and personal storytelling.

The Emmy win follows the film's national PBS premiere and its growing presence at universities, museums, medical schools, and NeuroArts programs, including its current exhibition at the Honolulu Museum of Art.
